The foundation of RSI is built on the pioneering work that began with Surface Preparation Technologies in 1988. Originally focused on surface preparation services for road and bridge construction, the company quickly became an innovator in roadway safety solutions.
In 1990, the organization was tasked with developing a method for installing shoulder rumble strips on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. That challenge sparked decades of innovation in rumble strip technology, including patented equipment and proprietary milling systems designed for superior speed, precision, and durability.
